It was during this time that he had set his sights on operating his own dealership. GM was instrumental in placing Wenzel in Portland, Maine where he went on to purchase a Chevy dealership. Under his leadership, the dealership took a drastic turn around and became New England¹s largest volume GM dealership. He started a successful used vehicle franchise and also purchased a Chevrolet Olds Cadillac dealership in Connecticut. Both dealerships were thriving but one thing was missing; living and doing business in West Michigan.
