Those who know GMC know the Sierra. The Sierra lineup of pickup trucks has been lauded for years, and while we march ever closer to the next iteration of GMC models, it is time to talk about what to expect when the 2019 model year rolls around. A special edition of the Sierra will be released in the fall of 2018, called the Sierra AT4. What is so unique about this pickup truck? Let’s take a look at the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 standard and available content.

Design and features

The idea behind the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 is to combine excellent off-road capability with some of today’s most innovative technology, all in a bold and confident package.

“The 2019 Sierra AT4 is designed for the customer who wants an elevated presence on the road and the capability to venture off life’s beaten path. It’s also the beginning for the AT4 brand, which will be seen on every vehicle in our lineup for the next two years.” – Duncan Aldred vice president of Global GMC.

The Sierra AT4 strikes the onlooker with a darker overall look. The front and rear bumpers, as well as the grille surround, will all match the color of the rest of the body. The grille design itself is finished in black chrome, with the unmistakable C-shaped LED lighting signature bracketing it on either side.

Standard features on the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 include a 5.3-liter V-8 engine, a two-inch factory-installed suspension lift, standard four-wheel drive, red vertical recovery hooks, off-road tuned Rancho monotube shock absorbers, Hill Descent Control, the Traction Select System, and exclusive interior trim styles and elements.

If you want even more than what is already offered, you will be happy to know about the available optional content, which includes a 6.2-liter V-8 or Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six turbo diesel engine married to a 10-speed automatic transmission, a GMC-exclusive and industry-first carbon fiber pickup box, a segment-first rear camera mirror, a multi-color head-up display (another segment first), and a suite of advanced safety features (which includes Surround Vision, Front Pedestrian Braking, Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert).
