Whether you and your friends have all piled into a GMC Acadia to go to a music festival or you and the family are all buckled into a Buick Enclave to visit Aunt Louise, it is important to stay entertained during such long trips. Sure, you can listen to music or podcasts, or have conversations about life, but if you want to add a bit of flavor to the proceedings, why not play a game or two? Here are 5 fun games to play while on a road trip.

Fun road trip games for the entire family

1. “I Spy.” This is a classic game in which one person says, “I spy with my little eye something the color of…” and then names that color, prompting everyone to guess what the player is talking about. Nothing outside the vehicle that you will pass though, because that’s cheating!

2. “Movie Trivia.” Do you have a car full of movie buffs? Ask each other questions, such as, “What do ‘Jaws,’ ‘Duel,’ and ‘Always’ have in common?” (In addition to just being single-name titles, those films were directed by Steven Spielberg!)

3. “Cows.” When you see cows on your side of the vehicle, yell “cows” and earn a point!

4. “20 Questions.” Another classic game, one of the passengers must think of a person, place, or thing, and everyone else then asks Yes or No questions, up to 20. If no one guesses, the person who thought of the noun wins!

5. “License Plates Around the Country.” Look for license plates on passing vehicles and see what state they are from. Try to find as many different states as you can via these license plates!

This is just a taste of some of the fun games that can be played on road trips. If you happen to be taking a road trip this summer, don’t forget to visit our service center for a check-up!
